Recently I attended the NGLCC (National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce) Conference in Tampa Florida. The NGLCC conference is the largest gathering of LGBTQ+ and allied business leaders in the world, and it was attended by leaders from small businesses, major corporations, and chambers of commerce from around the United States, Canada, Mexico, Columbia, South Africa, and beyond!
While in attendance, it was such an honor to have been nominated and selected as one of the LGBT Veteran Entrepreneur of the year 2019 by the NaVOBA (The National Veteran-Owned Business Association). I was honored as one of three Veteran owned business that received the same award. To hear the stories of each of the recipients and how the military has played such a major role in their entrepreneurship and walk was amazing and humbling.
I shared a very personal story of how my identical twin brother (now deceased) was such a huge influence into my joining the military. He helped to define my walk on so many levels. To this day, he has played such a huge role in my life both personally and business-wise.
