Fast forward. Back in the Spring, I arrived in Las Vegas for my annual catering conference (Catersource) that I have been attending over the past several years. I attend this awesome show each year to get new ideas, learn new techniques, see new trends and to learn how to run my company better. I also get to reunite with and meet some awesome caterers from across the country and world.
You know how they say that sometimes it’s the small details that makes all the difference in the world. Well I checked into my hotel at the Linq Hotel and Casino after a long flight from Atlanta. I arrived around 9:30 a.m. but unfortunately could not check into my room until 1:00 p.m. When I finally got to my room, I was exhausted and just wanted to take my shoes off and lay across the bed. I place my wallet on the desk, where I just so happen to notice the simple note in the pic. Talking about putting a smile on my face. As simple as this note was, it made a huge difference in my demeanor. I actually went into the hallway where I saw housekeeping and asked the young lady did she leave the note in my room. She explained that all the housekeeping staff leaves the notes and they also try to introduce themselves to each guest when it is possible. I told her that it was a very nice touch and it made my day.
Sure it’s only a simple note, but just like Occasional Occasions, they incorporated a simple step that doesn’t cost them a thing except for 15 seconds out of the housekeepers day, but can make a huge difference to that tired and broke down traveler.
